SUMMARY

MoCADA presents its 13th annual student artist exhibition. Organized in the spirit of the Black Lives Matter movement over fifty student artists from five Brooklyn schools created works of art grounded in their individual and collective BLACK experiences.

The exhibit features a wide assortment of work raging from but not limited to;

Images & Words.

Original prints.

Painted poetry.

Photography.

Architecture & Design.

Through their explorations in various media, student artists learn how to engage with each other on a deeper level and tell their individual stories. Additionally the students have the opportunity to connect with prominent Black Lives Matter figures and learn techniques for reclaiming their communities.

The “BLACK” exhibition affirms blackness, brilliance, and community. We invite you to celebrate the creative power of young black artists in Brooklyn!
