Join us for the next installment of the Lampblack Reading Series (@lampblack_lit) this Friday, September 15, featuring Mayada Ibrahim (@mayadamayadamay), Benjamin Wright (@peanut_butter_brown) and Kim Coleman Foote. Hosted by Randy Winston (@_rwinstonsworld).⁠

The Lampblack Reading Series was created by Black writers to support, promote, and celebrate Black writers. This event, which will see three celebrated authors read their most recent work, is free and open to the public. ⁠

A wine & beer reception will begin at 6 PM and readings will begin at 6:30PM. Limited seating (*priority will be given to people with disabilities). ⁠

Here’s your chance to dive deep into the Black History and culture of Fort Greene. It’s a guided tour through the heart of Black Fort Greene through the lens of its history makers and cultural giants. Presented by the Fort Greene Park Conservancy and Myrtle Avenue BID, this dynamic walking tour provides residents and visitors with a fuller history and context about our neighborhood from the 1800’s to today.⁠

Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, fully understands the importance of collaborating with community-based organizations and other local partners to reduce health disparities, as well as to increase access to primary and preventative health care services in the highest need areas of Downtown Brooklyn. This year’s Health and Wellness Expo will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, conveniently located outside the BPMC located at 650 Fulton Street, rain or shine!
