As a BAM DanceAfrica 2025 art partner, MoCADA is honored to co-present the visual work of Cassi Namoda to represent Mozambique in this year’s festival. Her magical, mixed media work, “At the Breast, At the Motherhood (the place where your mother originates),” which will be on view from May 6 (through the DanceAfrica celebrations) until June 30 in the lobby of BAM’s Peter J. Sharp building, delivers communal care through the lens of ancestral traditions and a commentary on the disruption of African liberation.
