Join us Saturday, April 15 for a special Public Exchange with celebrated comedian Petey DeAbreu as he performs his one-man show, Before Comedy, After Crime.
 
An autobiographical story about growing up in the Bronx, while trying to overcome obstacles on the way to becoming a comedian and not a criminal, Petey takes us for a walk through his cantankerous come-up with characters like Momma Love AKA young Cheryl, the Big Homey, and the honorable judge Andrew Carter. His performance reminds us that sometimes “you gotta go through it to get to it!”

Public Exchange is a MoCADA event series that delivers groundbreaking community programming, from artist talks, performances, panel discussions, and more to traditionally underserved areas and residents of Central Brooklyn.
 

This event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $5 for entry. Light food + drink will be served. 18+ (unless in the company of a consenting guardian/parent).

Made possible thanks to generous gifts from Council Member Crystal Hudson, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, NYC Coalition for Theaters of Color, and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.
