Your favorite longest-running kids’ film festival in Brooklyn is back!

Presented by MoCADA since 2000, this annual, interactive program offers kids and their families access to a free, outdoor, film screening every Friday night in the month of August. This year’s screenings inspired by Black Girl Magic will continue this tradition in partnership with BLERDFEST!, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, the African Film Festival, Inc., and others. Beginning Friday, August 2, 2019, and every Friday until Friday, August 30, films will be screened at The Plaza at 300 Ashland (at the corner of Flatbush and Lafayette), next to the future home of MoCADA.

Join us at 6pm for the festival’s closing party, which always includes a Sing & Dance-Along presentation of The Wiz, featuring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, and a costume contest, free popcorn, live performances, free face painting, and more! There will be free popcorn and face-painting by Naomi Martinez-Lampkin. Ice cream from Brooklyn’s own Creme & Cocoa will also be on offer. The special screening of the classic film will begin at 7:30 pm.

WHEN:  August 30, from 6:00-9:30 pm
WHERE: Bed Stuy, Brooklyn
