Brooklyn-bred singer-songwriter, visual artist, and art curator Yaya Bey has done it all. Influenced by the candidness of Donny Hathaway and authenticity of artists like Gladys Knight and the Notorious B.I.G, Bey’s ultimate goal is to attempt to do the narrative of Black people justice. This ain’t your grandma’s revolution… just listen to her recent EP,
Madison Tapes, and you’ll understand just what we mean. She is also a 2019 MoCADA Creator in Residence.

Rimarkable is a renaissance woman indeed. A DJ, vocalist, and producer, she has truly earned the moniker, after rocking crowds on international dance floors for over two decades. In the company of world stars such as George Clinton or Madonna or even legendary DJ colleagues (Gene Farris, Yuksek, Bonobo, Francois K, Super Flu, or Hyenah), or wowing dance floor crowds on Boiler Room TV, her unique sound becomes ceremony with a witches’ brew of House and Techno, in a Soul, Funk and Disco cauldron. Rimarkable is the co-creator, producer, and resident DJ for NYC’s JOY Party BK. A Detroit native, she resides in Brooklyn, NY where she owns and operates her creative production company, Rimarkable Things.

Nativesun is a DJ/ producer reppin’ D.C. with a sound that incorporates influences from electronic, house, techno, club and tribal music. He can be seen crushing stages at festivals such as Afropunk, Bonnaroo, Upstream, SXSW. In addition to his recent feature on Boiler Room Nativesun has been pushing hard to put his city on the map. Currently a radio co-host at Eaton Radio DC, co-hosting a show called “Unseen Radio” which focuses on highlighting and giving a platform to local artists and underground music around the globe.
