A museum centered on Art + Education + Social Justice through the lens of Africa + the diaspora

MoCADA relies on the efforts of a dedicated group of enthusiastic, outgoing and hard-working volunteers to support our mission and programming. The Volunteer Program at MoCADA welcomes students and adults of all ages, corporate groups, retirees, and more to support:

  • as greeters who welcome visitors with information about our programs, exhibitions, and events
  • as event producers who help with setup, breakdown, and attendee hospitality
  • as organizers who help support with community outreach + resource distribution (food + supplies)
  • as docents who act as tour guides through exhibitions and public art
  • as educators who are interested in hosting workshops or mentoring “artists”
  • as thought-leaders who are interested in advising our team or providing strategic assessments
  • as information-gathers who help collecting feedback on exhibitions and programming
  • as content-makers who contribute to our website
  • as arts leaders who support MoCADA staff at college fairs, art fairs, and information sessions
  • as assistant teachers and chaperones who support kids programming
  • as street team ambassadors who distribute posters and flyers for upcoming events
  • as administrative support who help with mailings, research, or preparing materials for art classes
